Who We Are

The Minnesota Climbers Association is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization made up of members and volunteers dedicated to preserving Minnesota climbing. We advocate access for climbers by encouraging responsible practices, promoting conservation and stewardship of private and publicly held lands, as well as fostering communication and awareness of the sport to the public.

Whether we’re rebolting routes to keep them safe, hosting Adopt-A-Crag cleanup events, working with land managers to protect and expand access to Minnesota climbing areas, farming ice at one of the US’s biggest ice parks, or providing resources and information, we’re here to support Minnesota climbers and climbing.

Anchor & Bolt Replacement

With a team of dedicated and trained volunteers, we oversee and, with your membership dollars and donations, fund the replacement of aging or damaged bolts and fixed anchors to keep our roads safer. Learn more about our rebolting efforts below.

Sandstone Ice Park

One of Minnesota’s three ice parks, MCA volunteers and the city of Sandstone maintain the Sandstone Ice Park—one of the premier farmed ice climbing destinations in the Midwest. Learn more about the ice park and the annual ice climbing festival below.

Access

Whether it’s state land, national land, or private land, we work with land managers to ensure we maintain access to our climbing areas across Minnesota. Learn more about our access wins and ongoing infrastructure projects.
